how to prevent phoenix glass from crack while cutting

May 9th, 2010

Technical instruction for phoenix glass on machining

1?Use equipment with excellent mechanic performances, sharpness of the saw bit is the best, the thickness of saw bit is between 2.4MM -2.6MM . Grind the thickness of the blade to the best with firebrick before every cutting, the grinding time should not less than fifteen minute. Diameter of the sow bit should between ? 350mm -? 400mm (Imported saw bit is preferable)

2? Mind the cutting traveling speed while cutting the sheet material; usually the cutting speed is 2.5m /mim -5m /mim. Reduce the speed when move in or out the blade so the stone will not be broken. Speed of the main blade when bridging cutting is about 2500r/min. The higher the rotary speed, the cutting result is better.
3? Be careful when processing project plate lower than 1000mm . The flatness the worktable should be very high. If the worktable is not flat enough, the corners is easy to fall off when cutting.

4? Separate the cut plates with pearl cotton, because it is fragile.

5? Project plates need edge grinding, chamfer processing. Glass straight beveling machine can be used, mind the force of every grinding head while grinding on the beveling machine, power quantity of every diamond grinding wheel should not excess 1mm , main belt of the beveling machine should be parallel with the plate feeding belt, or the plate would be uneven. When side angle need polishing, resin grinding wheel can be used. If this equipment is not available, portable hydrostone-flat grinder can also be used.

6? Use ?35 glass drill head when processing alien plate, mark the outside wire of tapping. And then use special stone drill head to drill several small holes around the hole. Drill holes in the four corners when drilling a square hole. Cooling water should be used, and the cutting blade should also be grinded in firebrick before operation. Be careful when operating, it should be slashed at one time, it should be slashed for several times, and cooling water should be used in slashing to prevent broking.

7? While grinding the curved edge, first mark the lines, prepare the shape with hand grinding machine

and then polish with portable hydrostone-flat grinder. The operation method is similar with other stone edge-grinding method. What should mind is that it can not be grinded when it is dry, water is needed when polishing. When thicken an edge, grind the edge roughly with grinding machine, the same as the added slips. Then clean the roughly grinded parts, if there is dust or other things, the adhesive force would be interfered. When making a France edge, first scratch the line with cutting machine and then grind the edge with the same method. So the best effect might be achieved.

8? When cutting a 45-degree angle, regulate the gradient of the main blade to the best with hand power cutting machine, and then clean the worktable, regulate the fixing plate. It is a good put a rubber plate on the worktable. So the surface of the plate would not be scratched. Grind the saw bit before processing, and check the water quantity, the speed should not be too high.

9? Process the stair footplate, antislip slot and the plate whose edge should be slotted. Footplate of some projects should be thickened, the sixth and seventh method can be used. Special mind should paid on alien plate edge, when cut the stair footplate for the second time, verso plate cutting should be processed. And open a antislip slot and plate edge slot, requirement of the customers should be considered. When open the slot again with hand power to regulate the slotting width. Use the saw bit according to the slotting width. Thickness of the saw bit is 2.4, generally two saw bit would be installed on the work plate for slotting. Add the sea bit according to the size of processing. Slotted edge should be shine, grind with portable hydrostone-flat grinder.

10? Process steel hanged plate edge, fixed plate should be used on the workplate of hand power edge cutting machine. Fix the plate vertically and then regulate the work plate, add or subtract saw bits according to the width of slots.

11? Be careful when piling processed finished plates, pile the finished plates in cubes. Do not pile too many in one place to prevent broken.

What is the difference between marble and granite countertops?”

May 5th, 2010

But first, the similarities.

They are both stone, which makes them hard, heavy, expensive and time consuming to install. They are both natural products, which means there can be variations in color and pattern, and sometimes what you see in the display is not very close to what you actually get delivered. Both come in a wide range of colors and patterns. Both can be stained by oily or highly colored foods. So both require resealing every once in a while (it seems like yearly is the usual rule.) Both are relatively heatproof, and they won’t scorch (a very hot pot placed on either type of stone could crack it, theoretically.)

But granite is a much harder, stronger stone than marble. It resists impacts and scratches better. And it is resistant to acids like tomato juice, lemon juice or vinegar. Marble is simply calcium carbonate, just like chalk, but in a compressed and crystallized form. So acids can etch the surface permanently. (And it will fizz, just like chalk in vinegar.) And it cracks and scratches more easily. Some marbles have very little pattern (some are totally pure white) so stains and marring stand out more. Granite typically has a complex mottled pattern that hides stains better. So for hard use, granite is a better choice.

A marble countertop or slab is a traditional working surface for pastry chefs, because the cold stone keeps the butter in the pastry layers from melting. But polished granite would probably work as well.

Practical considerations aside, marble has a look that is possibly more elegant and luxurious. It has extremely fine crystals, which create a snowy or satiny look. And the colors and patterns can be quite dramatic. Granite tends to have larger crystals, perhaps the size of peas or rice grains. This creates a coarser, more sparkly look. And while granite comes in a range of colors and patterns, that range is probably narrower than for marble.

So most people seem to recommend granite for hard use areas like countertops. Marble is higher maintenance, less durable and about as expensive. Its one advantage may be in appearance, but that will depend on the owner’s taste and the kitchen’s overall style.

But just FYI, there is another possibility that is even more durable than granite, and that is quartz or “engineered stone”. It is made of quartz powder that is fused together at very high heat. Unlike granite, it resists stains and doesn’t need sealing. It comes in patterns and colors that mimic granite very closely, but it is totally predictable, and more uniform than real stone (which might be good or bad, depending on your tastes.) It also comes in colors and patterns not found in nature, like bright blue.

artificial stone

April 26th, 2010

Artificial stone is a name for various kinds of synthetic stone products used from the 18th century through the early 21st century. They were used in building construction, civil engineering work, and industrial uses such as grindstones.

One of the earliest was Coade stone, a fired ceramic created by Mrs Eleanor Coade (Elinor Coade, 1733-1821), and sold commercially from 1769 to 1833. Later, in 1844, Frederick Ransome created a Patent Siliceous Stone, which comprised sand and powdered flint in an alkaline solution. By heating it in an enclosed high temperature steam boiler the siliceous particles were bound together and could be moulded or worked into filtering slabs, vases, tombstones, decorative architectural work, emery wheels and grindstones.

This was followed by Victoria stone, which comprises finely-crushed Mountsorrel (Leicestershire) granite and Portland cement, carefully mixed by machinery in the proportions of three to one and cast in moulds of the required shape. When the blocks are set hard the moulds are loosened and the blocks placed in a solution of silicate of soda for about two weeks for the purpose of indurating and hardening them. Many manufacturers turn out a material that is practically non-porous and is able effectually to resist the corroding influence of sea air or the impure atmosphere of large towns.

Most later types of artificial stone have consisted of fine cement concrete placed to set in wooden or iron moulds. It could be made more cheaply and more uniform than natural stone, and was widely used. In engineering projects, it had the advantage that transporting the bulk materials and casting them near the place of use was cheaper than transporting very large pieces of stone.

Modern Cast stone is an architectural concrete building unit manufactured to simulate natural cut stone, used in unit masonry applications. Cast stone is a masonry product, used as an architectural feature, trim, ornament or facing for buildings or other structures. Cast stone can be made from white and/or grey cements, manufactured or natural sands, carefully selected crushed stone or well graded natural gravels and mineral coloring pigments to achieve the desired color and appearance while maintaining durable physical properties which exceed most natural cut building stones. Cast stone is an excellent replacement for natural cut limestone, brownstone, sandstone, bluestone, granite, slate, coral rock, travertine and other natural building stones.

The definition of artificial stone

April 16th, 2010

Artificial stone is made of non-natural mixture, such as resins, cement, glass beads, aluminum powder, etc. and Crushed Stone adhesives. Artificial stone (also known as “artificial marble”) is a new type of composite material is unsaturated polyester resin and fillers, pigments mixed with a small amount of initiator, after some processing made. Accompanied in the manufacturing process can be made of a different pigment colorful, glossy jade resembles natural marble products. Because of its non-toxic, non-radioactive, fire retardant, non-stick oil, does not leak sewage, bacteria fungi, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, easy maintenance, seamless splicing, the advantages of arbitrary shape, is becoming the decoration materials market new favorite. Artificial stone product manufacturing is simple, short production cycle, low cost, widely used in various indoor and outdoor architectural decoration. Artificial stone 30 years ago appeared in the United States, China’s first application of artificial stone products, decorative materials, as is the mid-90s a number of coastal cities, a few years after the pandemic. Now the fever has spread positive medium and small cities in the Mainland, especially the introduction of UV Equipment Co., Ltd. Tianjin Rui Sente most advanced artificial stone surface of UV coating process, an instant cure can be dried (by a leveling machine and UV IR light curing unit can be realized). Features: Light weight (compared with natural stone), high hardness, oil and dirt resistant. Sheet thickness and gloss, translucent effect is obvious, no distortion, anti-aging fire, no radiation, anti-infiltration, according to customer demand random bend, seamless bonding, to really cathartic realm.

Natural stone from North Island Granite

March 4th, 2010

With the housing market in a slump, home owners are looking for ways to capitalize on their real estate investments in order to maintain maximum resale value.

One element these high-return renovations have in common, is the addition of natural stone counter tops.

In a world dominated by fashion crazes and must-have items that are not necessarily great performers, it would be valid to ask if natural stone is real value for money or possibly just another fad.

Granite and Marble has stood the test of time as far as work surfaces are concerned.

Stone counters are on display in the preserved ruins of Pompeii and the original natural stone surfaces are still in use in the public baths dating from the Roman Empire. In places such as Italy, Greece and Turkey, stone surfaces are the norm rather than the exception.

This great history proves the ultimate longevity of natural stone surfaces.

Because stone is a hard, crystalline material, it does not wear like much softer, man made surface materials  that consist mainly of plastic resins. The usable lifetime of natural stone counters can really be measured in generations.

Besides being resistant to normal wear occurring in any hard working kitchen, stone counters are also naturally heat and stain resistant. Some stones are so dense, in fact, that they do not need sealers, eliminating the necessity of periodic maintenance.

Natural stone is probably one of the easiest work surfaces to care for.

Besides regular wipe-downs with a damp microfiber towel, there really is not much else you need to do to keep your investment sparkly new looking.

With the abundance of natural stone friendly cleaners available from grocery stores, too, adjusting your cleaning regimen is just a matter of switching cleaner brands. This makes stone tops budget friendly in the maintenance department.

Ease of maintenance is another great selling point if you do decide to renovate with the eye on resale.

Another reason stone surfaces are popular with home buyers and designers alike, is its awesome beauty and uniqueness. ‘

Earthy colors like browns, golds and creams form only a fraction of the selection available. Greens, blues, purples, warm oranges, crisp whites and classy burgundies are all available, with patterns ranging from elegantly homogenous to boldly veined.

Well fabricated and professionally installed natural stone really is a statement of individuality and good taste and is a highly sought-after feature in homes that perform well in the real estate market.

Brief Introduction Of Artificial Stone

March 4th, 2010

1.The origin of the artificial stone

What should we do with the waste of granite that is produced by the production ? These waste materials pollute our environment seriously , how to solve this problem?

The scientists had found out the solution of the problem : Reclaim the waste materials which come from producing as raw material ,and then deeply process. The produce of artificial stone is not only solve the environment problem but also save plentiful mineral resource . By calculating that one ton waste material can process 20 square meters artificial stone , produce 2 million square meters artificial stone can solve more than 10 thousand ton waste material .thus turn the waste stone into gold .

2.The distinguish of artificial stone and natural stone

Compared with the natural stone , the artificial stone has the advantages of bright ,high degree of finish , even color , fine pressure and wear resistance ,fine toughness , compact in structure , robustness , light specific gravity , non-water-absorption , bear erosion and weathering , law chromatism , colorfast , low radioactivity etc.

Compared with the natural stone, the artificial stone has the advantages of using composite resource . If he annual production of one factory is 400,000 square meters , that can remove 30,000-50,000 tone waste material . It has influential effect and also the truly environmental friendly production of building material .

Compared with the natural stone, the price of artificial stone is competitive, elegance and noble . The artificial stone is able to second renew after years. That is the excellent quality and reasonable price for consumer’s selection. It is become the priority choice for the decoration material of the modern building .

3.The development trend of artificial stone

Since the durative improvement of the artificial stone technique , the multiaspect multipurpose demand of market faces with the opportunity of development . The products of developing from single traditional products to twin color , multicolor and match color .

Since we present the twin color variety – “Fantasy Royal “, the artificial stone immediately appears the trend of supply unable to meet the demand immediately , tand the successful trial product of quartz stone , improve the quality and use of the variety greatly .

Since durative develop of the new craft and technique , the artificial stone will develop towards the ultra thin type and diversification direction . At present , the artificial stone have already come out the quart stone within only 3mm thickness . The ultra thin slab of artificial stone has light weight , the common adhesive can fix it on the wall . It is not only save the cost of transportation , but also save and use effective of the stone resource .

4.The market trend of artificial stone

Due to the advantages of bright , high degree of finish , even color , fine pressure and wear resistance , fine toughness and reasonable price etc. According to the analyst of the expert , compared with the natural stone and artificial stone , a large market share of natural stone will give way to artificial stone in the future years . The success of crystal panel is good evidence . It can estimate that no more than ten years the artificial stone will divide equally world with natural stone and occupy half of the country’s stone business.

artificial stone

September 20th, 2009

Artificial stone was a name for various kinds of synthetic stone products used from the 19th century to the early 20th century. They were used in building construction, civil engineering work, and industrial uses such as grindstones.

Manufactured stone is a revolutionary material. It is made from concrete and special colored pigments. But to ensure it stays on a wall permanently, the stone mason who installs it needs to make sure they mix the stucco just right. It also helps to use a little cement paint as an extra bonding agent.

Many artificial stone Products are both lightweight and durable. These two qualities are achieved by manufacturing the stones in a controlled environment. Just about every artificial stone is made by mixing small, lightweight pieces of aggregate, Portland cement, and different iron oxide pigments. This mixture is poured into hundreds of different flexible molds which vibrate. This vibratory motion is the key to producing realistic textures and color variations in each individual stone. Because these stones are very similar to concrete and are manufactured under controlled conditions, they will probably outlast both you and I combined.

The fact that these Products are lightweight gives them a unique advantage over natural stone Products. Artificial stone Products do not require foundations beneath them for support. They are attached to buildings in a manner very similar to applying stucco. If your house is wood framed, a wire lath is applied directly to the wood studs or over the exterior wall sheathing after a weather resistant barrier has been applied. This barrier can be either standard asphalt felt paper or one of the many waterproof air infiltration barriers. Once the metal lath has been securely fastened to the wall framing members, the installer simply applies a one-half to three-quarters inch thick layer of mortar onto the lath. The stones are set directly into this fresh mortar. Many manufactures recommend using specific colored mortars depending upon the color of the stone being used.

Some people in the past have expressed concerns about the color fastness of artificial stone Products. For the record, many people don’t realize that natural stone will both fade and discolor as a result of oxidation and exposure to weather. The artificial stone Products are manufactured in such a way that the color is integral throughout each piece. Some manufacturers have developed an additional process which imparts shade variations directly from the face of the molds. This makes the stone Products virtually indistinguishable from their natural stone counterparts.

Artificial Stone Products should also help you with your budget problem. Frequently the cost of a complete installation is 50 – 60 percent that of a similar natural stone installation. The current retail cost of many of the artificial stone Products is about $4 per square foot. Labor, mortar, and other costs may add an additional $4 – 8 per square foot depending upon your locality.
